Hopewell offers everything from open spaces, parks and wildlife refuges to quaint boutiques and bustling markets–and all within an hour’s drive of Philadelphia, Cape May, Atlantic City, Wilmington, Cherry Hill, and Vineland. Come visit us and see why we’re so proud to call Hopewell home.
Our Local Businesses
Hopewell is built on small and local businesses, where products are made from scratch and services are performed by people who live in and care about the area. That personal touch is what brings people to shop and eat in Hopewell, and it’s why so many of those visitors come back again and again.
For a list of popular attractions, including restaurants, boutiques, and the Amish market, please see our Local Businesses page.
Our Beautiful Scenery
Hopewell sits on the banks of the scenic Cohansey River and is bordered to the north by Bostwick Lake Park and to the east by Bridgeton City Park, home of the Cohanzik Zoo, Mary Elmer Lake, and Sunset Lake. Over the last five years, Hopewell has acquired an additional 130 acres of parkland for Hopewell Park, which has been preserved through the New Jersey Green Acres Program.
The Bayshore Heritage Scenic Byway passes through Hopewell and features multiple historic sights dating back to the Revolutionary War. Hopewell is a favorite of cyclists, who enjoy miles of natural scenery on the township’s bike paths and country roads. Hopewell is also home to the Cohansey River Wildlife Management Area, where many rare and endangered species, including the bald eagle, make their home.
A variety of festivals at sites throughout Hopewell offer fun for the whole family. Festivals are typically held between June and October, including Hopewell Day in September. For more information on upcoming festivals and events, please visit our Facebook page.
