Significant Tree Nominations

Here are some of Hopewell Township's significant trees!
The owner claims that this weeping mulberry is the most unusual and picture perfect tree in Hopewell Township.  We bet you say that about your tree too!
How about this pin oak? We have lots of these in Hopewell?  Is your tree taller than 90 feet?
These hammock trees have a story.  The white barn in the picture was moved from this property to the "Shoemaker Dairy Farm" in the 1950's.  The old concrete foundations were not removed until 1989.  The owner left these two trees (one maple/one tulip tree) because they had grown over the old foundation.  As they grew larger, they have become the perfect hummock trees.  The owner receives many great compliments on what a perfect setting it is beneath the trees on a cool summer night.
This American elm tree has a circumference of 144 in.  That means the tree is 12 feet around at the base.  Is your elm tree larger than this?

If you want to nominate your favorite tree, please fill out the nomination form and submit a photograph. It is OK to include the tree hunter in the picture. Thank you for becoming part of an effort dedicated to locating, identifying, and raising the public awareness of Hopewell Township's outstanding trees.

 Happy Tree Hunting!
